Girls we love / MOMS is a story about the most mysterious and amazing time in the life of a woman: a story about love, passion, struggle, cuddles and hugs. We are so pleased to chat with some of our dearest friends and people we admire: women we want to take care with the simple gesture of a dress that follows and fits their evolving body and inner soul during the revolutionary period of pregnancy. Feminine at her most, a woman feels her body grows and adapts to a new life, while her mind is a spring of happiness, panic, doubts and pure love. Feeling good with yourself is crucial: being comfortable and comforted without renouncing to look good is vital.

SAY HI TO SILVIA STELLA OSELLA

TELL US ABOUT YOU

Hi! I am Silvia Stella, a textile and surface designer from north-west Italy that after exploring different cities found home in Milan, where I opened my studio full of fabric samples, Pantone codes and watercolors, and two centenarian magnolias in the courtyard.
In the last few year I have also co-founded Iluut, a sustainable fashion start-up, together with other two young women living in London and Helsinki. I am a pro ice cream eater, I love escaping in the mountains every now and then, and I mostly enjoy spending time with the people I love.

WHERE DO YOU FIND INSPIRATION

I have always been a very curious person, so it’s not a big surprise that I ended up working in a field that requires so much research about trends, color evolution through different seasons, and to be very up to date in many different fields!
I started my career as an illustrator and ended up in textile design almost by chance, and I was so surprised and fascinated by all the work that there is behind a collection, all the incredible research to predict even a single shade of color.
I try to travel as much as I can, and that really has a big impact on my work too.
I collect vintage botanical and color theory books and I try to fill my eyes with tons of little details from everyday life.

WHAT IS YOUR DAY-TO-DAY GO OUTFIT?

As a fan of simplicity, which I try to pursue in different aspects of my life, I usually go for comfy and practical clothes: a pair of jeans, a t-shirt and a cosy piece of knitwear.
I try to support as much as I can sustainable brands, and lately I try to buy much less and to focus on quality over quantity.

BEST THING ABOUT BEING A MUM

I guess I will find out very soon!
I am now in my eight month, truly amazed by all these changes happening to my body; this is probably the closest to “magic” I have ever experienced. Also, I love all the positive energy that this kind of change brings in you and in the people that surround you.
I can’t tell now if it’s going to be the best one, but for sure one of the things that fascinates me the most about this new adventure is having the opportunity to see a new human being taking shape, with its own individuality, peculiarities, tastes and passions. And to be there right from the beginning, observing all these exciting things happen.

WHAT DO YOU LIKE MOST OF SARTORIA VICO?

I like the fact that it is a brand made by real people, and you can feel it while wearing Sartoria Vico’s garments. It’s not just knitwear, it is a cuddle where you can perceive all the passion and hard work that has been put into it.

HOW DO YOU FEEL WEARING SARTORIA VICO WHILE EXPECTING?

I love how Sartoria Vico adapts to the body through all these changes.
The last months of my pregnancy will be during winter, not an easy period to grow a belly!
I tried to buy as few maternity clothes as possible, and I love the fact that well designed and thoughtful brands can actually adapt to different stages of the life of a woman: it’s like an adventure lived together, and the most sustainable option too!
