TELL US ABOUT YOU

I’m Anna, I’m 22 and I recently got a degree in Fashion Design. If I had to describe myself in one word I would say "curiosity" both in the good or bad way.

WHAT'S YOUR FAVOURITE BREAKFAST?

I’m a tea lover, so green tea with a splash of honey and wholemeal biscuits, but when I really need to feel good nothing taste better than norwegian Kanelbolle and a soy cappuccino!

WHAT IS YOUR CURRENT DAYDREAM?

I’d really love to work as a Costume Designer in the future. Research about characters' backgrounds, different historical periods and mostly giving life to a person that exists only on paper really excite me.

SO YOU WANT TO WORK IN FASHION, WHY?

Looking back at my family's history, since my childhood games working in Fashion was the only option I’ve ever considered, even if a bit unconsciously. In the end of the 19th century, my great great grandmother was a tailor, practicing an exclusively male job in a time when women weren't even supposed to be working. She was an open minded and independent woman: an inspiration for the whole family. After her, numerous members of my family followed her path. For me as well, becoming a fashion designer was a spontaneous choice: a way to be true to my inner self and honor my ancestors.

WHAT IS YOUR NEXT STEP/PROJECT?

I don’t really have plans at the moment, apart from taking a drawing journal. I really want to explore and understand what I’m good at and what I really like by working rather than studying.

WHAT ARE YOUR MAIN SOURCES OF INSPIRATION?

I’m a very visual person and I love creating moodboards. I’m constantly in search of inspiration and I take it from -literally- everywhere: tv series, films, comic books, art and photography. “Raw” and “Ugly” are two words that I really take into consideration when researching, I like realities that are far away from my experience. Two of my favorites references at the moment are filmmaker Matteo Garrone and cartoonist Zerocalcare.

ANY CLOTHES YOU WOULD NEVER WEAR

I’m really open about clothes. Right now I don’t like to wear low rise jeans or mini skirts, but I did it in the past so I can’t really say never again.

LET'S BREAK DOWN A MYTH ABOUT KNITWEAR

Knitwear do not fit well if you’re not skinny: FALSE! I’m really into an all knitwear look: it gives you a twist and it’s really comfy.
